چکیده
Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) started operations in Nigeria on the 16th of May, 2001. An important feature communication system is Base Transceiver Stations (BTS). However, their installations have brought about public concerns and fears, specifically to issues relating environmental risk, health sometimes construction problems that might result mast collapse. This study aimed at identifying spatial distribution BTS Kwamba, analysing terrain area examining level compliance NESREA standards siting a BTS. The data Kwamba was collected from two sources; Primary Secondary sources. primary include use GPS obtain coordinates GSM base stations respective elevations. geographic includes Google Earth imagery obtained Earth, Landsat images, SRTM USGS Explorer shape files (roads etc) OSM data. ArcMap used plot map showing slope extraction provide information terrain. Also, using stated standard, 10metre buffer test all existing carried out ArcMap. Findings research revealed there are 24 distributed randomly Kwamba. 7 failed test, meaning they were not with 10m setback distance as by locating close residential homes. recommends stakeholder(s) imbibe GIS techniques it will assist monitoring non-compliance regulated standard service providers. adaptation also regulatory bodies effectively carrying constant supervision

Impact of rainfall on natural attenuation of diesel and waste oil within urban base transceiver stations
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Very low grid power penetration in some urban areas has led to telecoms companies investing massively in the deployment of diesel generators (DGs). These deployments have led to diesel and waste oil spill at base transceiver station (BTS) sites during maintenance cycles, impacting the environment and human activities. The objective of this study is to...
